How to claim it

1. Download the Vela app and enter our referral code 01WP9J when you sign up. It can’t be added later.
2. Complete your profile.
3. Scan your first receipt to unlock your joining bonus of £5, £10 or £20 in points, picked at random.
4. Keep scanning receipts from your shopping, up to 3 a day and within 14 days of buying.
5. Once you have 5,000 points, swap them for a £5 gift card, like Tesco or Boots.

• Our experience: we’ve been making about £15 a month, which is the most the free version lets you cash out each month.
• Clear photos: make sure the date, shop name and total are all readable. Long receipts are the most likely to be rejected.
• Vouchers aren’t instant: they’re checked first and can take up to 3 working days. Keep the email, as it has a security code you need to use the voucher.
• Skip Vela Plus: the free version is enough. Plus costs £5.99 a month for double points and higher limits.
• Earning more
• Pick your biggest receipts: receipts with more items and a higher total earn more points, so use your 3 daily scans on your bigger shops.
• Connect your email: Vela can pick up online receipts from Gmail or Outlook automatically.
• Daily spin: there’s a free spin each day for bonus points.
• Refer friends: you get between £1 and £20 in points for each friend who joins with your code and uploads 5 receipts a week for 2 weeks, for up to 15 friends a year.
