What is the Santander Switch? Santander pays £240 for switching to its free Everyday account, and you get access to a regular saver paying 8%.
⏳ No end date has been announced, but switch offers change often, so check before you start.
How to claim it
- Open a Santander Everyday account and choose a full switch from a bank that isn’t Santander, Cahoot or Cater Allen. The account you’re moving needs at least 2 household Direct Debits.
- Complete the switch within 60 days.
- Within the same 60 days, pay in £1,500 (it can be in smaller amounts) and put at least £200 into the linked regular saver.
- Your £240 is paid within 90 days of starting the switch.
Handy hints
- Good to know
- What you need: 2 household Direct Debits, a full switch, £1,500 paid in and £200 into the regular saver.
- Is it free? Yes, Santander Everyday has no monthly fee.
- Need Direct Debits? Plum or Moneybox can set up free monthly Direct Debits to yourself. Keep them monthly, as quarterly ones aren’t always counted.
- Follow every step: read the bank’s switch offer terms carefully and do each step within the time limits. Miss one and you can lose the bonus.
- Space out applications: each new account can show on your credit file, so don’t open lots at once.
- Who can’t get it: anyone with a Santander current account on or after 1 January 2026, or who has had a Santander switch bonus before.
- Use your switching account: switch from a spare account, like the TSB one under Start here, so your main bank stays put.
- Earning more
- 8% regular saver: save up to £200 a month for a year at 8%, worth up to about £104 in interest.
