What is the Barclays Switch? Barclays pays up to £300 for switching to its free Bank Account: £150 upfront, then £30 a month for five months.
⏳ No end date has been announced, but switch offers change often, so check before you start.
How to claim it
- Open a Barclays Bank Account in the Barclays app, as a sole account, and choose a full switch. The account you’re moving needs at least 3 Direct Debits, and the switch must complete within 21 days.
- Within 30 days, have at least £2,000 of salary paid in. Transfers from your own accounts don’t count.
- Your £150 is paid within 28 working days.
- For the next five months, keep paying in £2,000 and make 10 card payments each month to get £30 a month.
Handy hints
- Good to know
- What you need: 3 Direct Debits, a full switch, and £2,000 of salary a month.
- Is it free? Yes, the Barclays Bank Account has no monthly fee.
- Need Direct Debits? Plum or Moneybox can set up free monthly Direct Debits to yourself. Keep them monthly, as quarterly ones aren’t always counted.
- Follow every step: read the bank’s switch offer terms carefully and do each step within the time limits. Miss one and you can lose the bonus.
- Space out applications: each new account can show on your credit file, so don’t open lots at once.
- Who can’t get it: anyone who had a Barclays current account open on or before 1 October 2026, or has had a Barclays switch bonus before.
- Needs your salary: this offer needs £2,000 a month of earnings paid in, not a transfer from your own accounts, so it may suit your main account rather than your spare one.
- Earning more
- Earn more: Barclays Premier pays £600 if you earn £75,000 or more. See the next tile.
